SFRTA sponsored the TIGER grant application for the WAVE streetcar, which won an $18 million TIGER IV grant in 2012. This project also received a Small Starts Grant.

The Broward MPO had significant support and funding for the project.
FDOT has now taken over responsibility for design and construction.
