The City adopted a Transit Oriented Corridor future land use designation for the area near Atlantic Boulevard and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Hammondville Road east of I-95 and beyond Dixie Highway in anticipation of future Tri-Rail Coastal Link service. The City of Pompano Beach is in the process to amend the future land use plan and zoning code to create a form-based code for Atlantic Blvd. The Land Use Plan Amendment has successfully gone through the County Planning Council. The City is currently working on the zoning code.

The City has invested in a new cultural center next to city hall as a catalyst for redevelopment. The City acquired another property in this area and is looking to redevelop soon.
