Improved coordination could help convey the purpose and benefits of mixed-use compact transit-supportive development to the public and elected officials during the development review process, especially if FDOT could be available for public meetings. FDOT and other agency staff attendance at city commission and planning and zoning board meetings could help demonstrate support for these types of projects and amendments.
